We know it can be somewhat of a challenge, but the one of the best things a mom can do for her family is to find a little time for just for herself! Even if it’s just the focus for a few minutes out of your busy daily life, intentionally caring for yourself has a big beneficial impact on your well-being and that of your loved ones.
5 “BITE-SIZE” ACTS OF SELF-CARE FOR WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE 5 MINUTES TO YOURSELF
1.) GET MOVIN’
Once you’ve been sure to get the OK from your doctor, exercise, stretch or try some gentle yoga. Here are a few ideas:

2.) CATCH UP WITH A FRIEND
Text or email a friend you haven’t had time to chat with lately. Send a quick note to let a friend know you’re thinking of them. This doesn’t take as much time as a phonecall and doesn’t necessarily need an immediate reply.
Drink a glass of water! It’s important for breastfeeding moms to stay hydrated. It’s generally recommended for nursing moms to drink around 100 ounces of water per day. Here’s a trick to make sure you’re getting enough H20:
Every morning, pour the amount of water you need to drink for the day and set it out on the counter or put it in your travel bag. By the end of the day the containers should be empty.

Try a guided meditation or some deep breathing. Sometimes it’s even just enough to take a few moments to enjoy where you are – you will never be in this exact same moment twice. Here’s 2 meditation apps we like:

Use your imagination and think of your daily shower as “spa time” – even if it’s only a 5 minute rinse! If you’re able to carve out a little more time, take a bath! With some music, a candle, essential oils, a facial mask, even a glass of wine and you have an
