Here’s a round up of celebrity mamas who’ve captured our hearts and minds this week. Lots of love to you all and thanks for the inspiration!
Making headlines on the runway
SI Swimsuit model search finalist Mara Martin made waves at Swim Week in Miami by breastfeeding on the runway.
“Words can’t even describe how amazing I feel after being picked to walk the runway for @si_swimsuit,” she wrote. “Anyone who knows me, knows it has been a life long dream of mine. I can’t believe I am waking up to headlines with me and my daughter in them for doing something I do every day.
“It is truly so humbling and unreal to say the least. I’m so grateful to be able to share this message and hopefully normalize breastfeeding and also show others that women CAN DO IT ALL! But to be honest, the real reason I can’t believe it is a headline is because it shouldn’t be a headline!!! My story of being a mother and feeding her while walking is just that.”
What’s life like with a newborn for the “I Like It” rapper?
Cardi B doesn’t want to hire a nanny for her new baby just yet. In a recent Instagram post, the new mother reflected on her upbringing and how involved her family has been since she and husband Offset welcomed their first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus.
She says: “I just want to learn how to be a mom. I want to enjoy every single second of it since I’m going back to work.”
Serena gets real about lactation and weight loss
“I feel like everyone says, ‘You’re so thin when you breast-feed.’
“I’m going to be totally frank… That’s a lie.”
Serena kept getting told and reading article upon article that said women typically lose weight or get thin while breast-feeding, but got frustrated when she found that wasn’t true for her personally.
“What I’ve learned through the experience is — every body is different, every person is different, every physical body is different,” Williams said. “I wanted to say that so women out there know that’s not true [losing weight while breast-feeding]. Everyone takes things different. I think it’s important for us to share that message.”
